George Bush Gives Christianity A Bad Name

Bush and Cheney, oh how zany
Iraq War is cock-a-mamie

Haliburten's gold mine field

Oil for us is this war's yield

George Bush Christianity

Is just plain insanity

Jesus blessed those who make peace

Not those who would see war increase

The oil belongs to who lives there

U.S. now demands its share

Invade their country gives  us right

To their oil through our might

Compassionate conservative President Bush

bin Laden forgotten with Iraq push

Oil will spoil more people's lives

We see your love in dead men's eyes

I salute both your rhyming and your sentiments. I must also add an Amen! to your "Thank God Obama was elected.

George Bush did not run on an internaltional platform the first time around but 911 occurred. Clinton, Stenent, all of Clinton" s top staffers and all Bushes top staffers all had the same classified materieal. They all said USB was a threat.
There is a story about Bush walking and praying in the white house garden before making his decision. We didn't need the oil at the time and we're not getting it now.
The war could have been run better. I had a nephew blown up in Afghanastan. Thank God he lived but not without PTSD and losing 40% of his tricep in his left arm.
I am an indedependant and I find it ironic that all the librals are so biast and racist and ready to nananaboooboo when the GOP has said they are ready to work, negotiate and disagree in a polite and civlilized manner. The Dems have held up every bill in committee as much as they could and behaved like children I hope Obama will bring our nation together.
Where does it say that we cannot work together as the framer of the constitutions want?

a good piece, perhaps one day we will find peace, we can live in the hope of it, in the meantime we have to get rid of the warmongers that are supposed to be working for us.

I absolutely agree. This is an oil war and it is the most deplorable, immorality to use religion as a front and an excuse. Very good and straight-forward write. Thank you.

I agree with all the other comments. You made a strong statement and I think that too few people speak loud enough or long enough on this issue.

    Bush's lights are dead ahead
That’s what death for me have said
To kill families and smile in bed
While in the grave you will lie dead,

Baghdad is hell and the USA
Want to date the ARMAGEDDON day
To destroy everything and leave a mess
Leaving us in an international death...

    Outstanding

You don't pull your punches. A hard hitting poem with a great deal of integrity. I especially liked the last line which sums up the whole sorry mess. A well-written poem full of irony.

    yeah,

and to the rest of the world those "Christians" who get noticed are Christ's spokespersons, while the quiet ones have no say. Kinda what I was getting at in the ones about that freaky preacher. By the same token only the extremests on the other side get noticed too. Bottom line, just like we learned with the Russians after decades of hate; they're just folks.

    Yes. You are correct ...

there are monsters again roaming the earth, and they have reached the highest pinnacles of our society, their aim only to tear it down and establish a world dictatorship with other monsters.

Wow! This say a lot and has a truth to it. The meter is quick and drives the point across. I like how you alternated the 3/4 beat with the octa syllable, it works well.

    Love,

I couldn't agree more with every word. I can't even get into it because it makes me so sad and angry. Selfish bastard is what he is and I can't wait til he's gone.

Excellent capture of a sad, unnecessary, tragic reality!

    Amazing!

An American who writes these things. I do agree with you wholeheartedly, but I thought these things could not be said in the USA. I am so pleased that you gave this statement in a beautiful poem. Wonderful!!!

Very profound, Ellis... and your verbage makes for some thoughtful reading. I agree with so much of this, your message coming through loud and clear.

I was especially impressed by this line:

"The oil belongs to who lives there"

    Good piece

not a fan of war, never have been, never will be.
i personally think bush should fight the war his self, if oil means that much to him. leave the rest of us alone to live our life in peace. i am glad you wrote this piece. wish you could send a copy to bush, he needs an eye opener ( hope that's a word ) lol

    loveandblessings2u & yours always

Oh, Ellis, this is profoundly splendid!

Aye, what I have been thinking, too, for a long while but had no idea how to express it. You said it in wonderful rhyme, which delights this girl.
