Deep in the Swamps
The Ol cabin stood
Just an Ol one roomer
Falling down and made of wood
GrandPa lived there
On his verandah, just happy to Be
Playin his banjo
Singing blues that were truly free
Every Christmas I would visit
An sit for hours by his side
Playin my harp
Playin carols with blues to drive
Sometimes was fishin
Delicious to eat
Sometimes dancing
Tappin our feet
But the blues were our mainsong
An all the animals seemed to sing along
There were lovesongs and done wrong songs
Songs of the down and out
Some songs raised their voices and made us wanna shout
Yeah I'll always remember
That music of a pure soul revived
A special time together
Where Christmas truly came out and thrived
Special memories became a world there
Hand made wooden toy presents whittled loving last year
Safe in our innocence, no feeling of fear
Under a Kerosene lamplight welcome
Uncle would come with a wishbone violin
We learned to really dance and carol sing
Decorated a simple tree and ate a simple meal
Nothing was complicated
But we had all the feeling real Christmas would bring

Hey!! Long time no talk. Don't you EVER stop writing for a second? lol I'm kidding, it's great that it flows in your blood. I wish I could stay that focused now adays. Anywho, I just wanted to say that this reminded me a lot of past traditions and old times of innocence that I once adored too... lol.
Great job, great imagery, great everything - like usual! Keep it up!
