I don't sing of Christmas
For it is joyous,
And I haven't been blessed with that spirit in a while
But what is the use of complaining tonight?
On the eve of a day so compelling to those who finally found something to warm themselves
I won't sing of Chritmas this year
For it is joyous,
And I haven't sat down and thought about it in a while
But what is the use of waiting tonight?
On the eve of a day so appreciated by families who feel togetherness for the first time all year
Instead I will belt out the words of Christmas
For it is joyous,
And I have been waiting for so long to feel the way I was meant to
But what is the use of wallowing tonight?
On the eve of a day that I promised myself will be magical the way it was when I was young
I will try my hardest to sing of Christmas
For it is joyous,
And I really hope that I can get the tune right,
Because isn't this what Christmas is really about?
On the eve of a day that may finally make sense to me, I want everyone to know that there is hope for them too.
