The Promise

In the cold bleak dark of night
The wisemen see a wonderous sight
From the heavens a star shines bright
that guides their path with radiant light

The wisemen knew from this star
A King is born; His word spread far
His body will be wretched and marred
His hands will heal any scar

This little Baby that they find
Will raise the dead and heal the blind
As they look on this Child enshrined
They see the Savior of all mankind

So from the dark; His promise clear
The gift of salvation is always here
If from our hearts we are sincere
then spread His word for all to hear

And from this little Baby's start
The meaning of Christmas was impart
This light that shines in the dark
Will give us peace within our heart
