I trembled at the statue's base,
A frightful female image shone
Though lovely was its one-eyed face,
That seemed to smile from solid stone.
Her Cyclops’ eye was deeply set
Within her head of black basalt…
I saw her moonlit silhouette
Against the night sky’s giant vault.
She stood there, slightly to the right,
In shadows that were black as jet,
Night orchids in her hair, while light
Set off her shining coronet.
She was so tall, and something odd
Flashed in her hair of long brunette,
Some goddess or some comely god,
With one jeweled eye, a red rosette.
I watched her lovely silhouette
Move toward me and was gripped with fright,
I fled that Cyclops-eyed brunette,
Far, far into the haunted night.
Please tell me what you think

Very weird. But good! I would have never thought of a cyclops as attractive, but you really made her sound so. Long title. It definently made me curious.
Very interesting!
