Christmas With Christ

As
You
Lie  in
your straw
filled manger,
just  a  baby  so
helpless and small,
can  you  see  all the
heartache  and  sorrow
you will suffer from loving
us all? Is the tear I see on your
cheek  son  the  first to  be  shed
for  mankind? For the world will treat
you  cruelly, though your heart be forgiving
and  kind.  And  your  mother,  what  of  her
feelings, as  she  presses you close to  her breast.
Do  her eyes  behold  the future of  her  son  hanging
tortured on his Cross of Death? And Joseph, so patient and
thoughtful, so wise  in his holy ways, does his heart ache with
the bitter knowledge at the price you soon must pay? Yes, Christmas
is  gay and delightful  when the  holiday  season is here.  But let us  take
time  to  remember  what  it  cost  in  bloodshed  and  tears!  For the  gifts you
give one another will no doubt be gladly received. But the gifts you give the Christ Child
will be cherished far greater than these. So let us pay quite homage in honor of the Christ Child’s birth and ask
his forgiveness  and
blessing  on  each of
us here on this Earth
“Oh Christmas so blessed and beautiful, on this day of the Christ Child’s birth;
Let the world sing  aloud  in  its  praises, to you, Little  King  of  the  Earth!”

Dennis, I think of this Christ child so often with remorse and misgivings about a world that seems so blind to the power of love. I couldn't write it any better than this, his sacrifice to show us a better way. Way shower and Master...we are indebted forever.

I loved reading this and the ending of remembrance and hope. ~ Karen

    Great Work!...

"Then the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”--Luke 2:10-12

This is the verse that comes to mind as I read this. It's amazing to me that God chose to glorify Himself through the helpless state of a newborn baby. It seems He was fascinated in that as He also died that way, as a helpless Man on a cross. He chose to be helpless in order to be our help. All we need do is believe.

May we also remember that the shadow of the cross loomed over that manger. He said His reason for coming was to die in our place.

    God bless and Merry Christmas!

    Stunning.

This is the true meaning of the season. It portrays the spirit of Christmas in a special way the form is just right. Your making it in the form of the tree makes it even more unique and special. Though there is noy one part that isn't just beautiful in this I really enjoyed the way it was presented for its uniqueness. Every word is so true to the theme of your title. Excelent piece and well done truely enjoyable to read and to remember. I liked this very much.

Wow. That is so pretty! I like the Christmas tree shape, that was one of the reasons it caught my eye and I wanted to read it. I also like the title. The message is great, and seeing as how this is a concrete poem, I give you credit for making this easy to read, unlike some people who make theirs in the shapes of . . . Anyways, this was a great poem, especially for a religious one. God bless you and Merry Christmas!

My first impression was good structure and layout ..... it was beutifully presented .... i love how its so honest and so true . you dont know how much it cost christ on that day .... to me it means more knowing the suffering what happened so long ago and being thankful for what you get today .
    “Oh Christmas so blessed and beautiful, on this day of the Christ Child’s birth;
Let the world sing aloud in its praises, to you, Little King of the Earth!”
i love this ending . it sums up the poem and its the real meaning behind the poem .
I dont think it needs to improve i think it speaks for its self .
Welldone . And keep up the good work X
