A Christmas Twist

We all know that one day a year
When the folks are all jolly with holiday cheer

The icon of this special time of year
Not Santa Claus, with the white flowing beard

But Jesus Christ,
He who paid the price

Although we have been convinced
Christmas was stolen from a religion people were against

December 25th, the night to remember
Was a Pagan holiday, reserved for December

Hoping for the conversion of all
The Pagan holiday took the fall

Now we celebrate this one day a year
Filling our hearts with the holiday cheer

But when you praise Jesus, just remember
Those poor Pagans on the 25th of December

Many people do not know that Jesus Christ was indeed not born in December (if you believe that he exists). When the Roman royalty was converted from Paganism to Christianity, they chose the 25th of December (the Pagan holiday "Yule") in hopes that the Pagans would convert to Christianity. The same is true for Easter (besides the date).
