Reversals of Fortune

I'm their pet mouse
Under the house
I want to share
Christmas up there

Looking inside
I'd better hide
I see a cat
Won't do at that

The cat sees me
But I don't flee
Cause he looks pleased
Tensions are eased

Door open wide
I step inside
Cat shakes my hand
I understand

Christmas is why
I do not die
Love in all hearts
A new day starts

a good smiling poem here showing how peace can be made between enemies at certain times, so if at certain times why not all times

Great for gold. A universal message told with an unusual sense of the concrete, of image and imagination, of humor, and of irony. Everything about the poem works well. Delightful to read.

Yay! I love this, it's so cute and the mouse gets Christmas love too! This is what I call a smile poem.

    Love,

Cute, I love it...it captures the essence of the holiday and that is giving, sharing, kindness...and it's done in such a lighthearted way, a way that children could learn from!

This is humour. A cat and a mouse shaking hands (? lol...), because it is Christmas, a time of peace and friendship. It brought a smile to my face.
Ecrivain calls this remarkably unrealistic, but I wonder... Are people not always fighting like cats and mice? Oh well... mice or dogs, what's the difference?
    Hahahaha. Anna.

    I'm always leery ...

of anything labeled "precious", but I will say that it's a cute poem, if remarkably unrealistic.

    Merry Xmas.

Careful mouse, the reason you are so eagerly received may be because you are Christmas dinner!
