Fast Fast Fast, Party Party Party

in this small room
sweat is running down the walls
as your hand is glued to my back
the other holding your alcohol
and taking the cigarette
away from me. breath fast,
dance slow, drink fast, and
everyone is gonna let go tonight.
through the fence in a short
short skirt, walking almost
barefoot through the snow
to 101 where i find you already
drunk because you're too afraid
to get old. it's ok,
i'm afraid to return to my
pitiful little room with
no one there since my roommate's
in chicago. when you leave me
at four AM i begin to fall
asleep in my sheets of alcohol
and my sea of cigarettes. but
a text stops short the dreaming
and i'm slipping back on
my short short skirt, leaping
across 13th street and breathing
fast, loving you slow, and
not sleeping at all this night
since dreaming only brings old age
and there's no sense collapsing
when you've still got so much
energy to burn off in someone
else's sober face.

this seems more like a story than a poem, but that's how poems go sometimes, my own included. the imagery you've displayed here works spectacularly. there's a sense of urgency throughout the piece, like thoughts are spinning around inside the mind. spell check would add even more strength to the piece, as there are a couple of errors, such as "roommate". what a wonderfully written piece though with amazing ending lines. thanks for your entry and best wishes for your future writin
