To be composed in times of stress
and not squander away our treasures
The insignificance of her breast
when just to hold can bring such pleasures
Yes, there are times when all thoughts of sex
I'd rather leave behind
And just hold the tender women
special comforts for this heart and mind
Extensive talks and lustful words
are fine when they are primed
But most important to that night
Is her face of splendor, loving, close to mine

This is lovely. Yes, words are one thing... but the touch, the simple touch... that makes it all worth while.

random but why do people leave comments in all caps? are the screaming how good you are?........anywho, well done on the poem. I loved it, as always!

Songs of love. Like a Mathias tune can be such a glorious ending

Bob your words are so true my friend. I always missed the cuddling and holding afterwards much more then the love making itself. A warm hug and the feeling of never wanting them to let you go is the most beautiful feeling in the world. Just my thoughts. The tenderness in just holding the one you love is unforgetable. And something I miss the most. Thank you for sharing this link. It is such a lovely poem. Take care. A sweet hug for you my friend. Sandy

When lust and love became interchangable words, I think we all became a bunch of loser's. If it's not burning like a rocket, keep on movin'... A little farther down the road is where we will stop, and wonder why love is so illusive, and realize what we may have missed?

I would settle for some of both to be honest lol

To be honest, a cuddle and a kiss beats a lot of things...nothing more loving as far as I'm concerned!

Uncle Bob,
this poem is beautiful. great job on this. I like the first stanza and this one:
But most important to that night
Is her face of splendor, loving, close to mine
this saying is something that I believe with all my heart. you never know what you got until its gone.

Hugs and kisses are just or are more special then anything else. Caring and loving words are what many wish for.
Great write -
I'm getting too old to do much more than cuddle these days, Bob! Seriously though, a lovely poem.
