It was a dark and stormy night
She was scared of the coming light
Daytime was a horror
She liked the dark so much more
She couldn't stand the sun
Into her soul it did bore
It was a dark and stormy night
But at least for now, she was alright
For now, right now, it was always NOW
She couldn't stand the coming day
She didn't want the loneliness or the sorrow
The world saying she wasn't okay
It was a dark and stormy night
And she was hoping the monsters would bite
She didn't want to go through the day
Alone and lonely, only one
And as she fell asleep and dreamt
She wished the night would never be done
Then away went the dark and stormy night
And out came the dreaded light
Forever she lived, it seemed
Always dreading the light
Until that one day
When she was taught to fight
How to fight the fear
And how to fight the dread
And finally learn to listen
If only to what he said
This boy, so sweet
Made everything alright
This boy, so sweet
Taught her to fight
Fight, not the light
But the sadness
Fight, not only for herself
But for her happiness
This boy, so sweet
Her one true love
Turned this pigeon
Into a beautiful dove
