I was searching for the perfect pitch
A word, a sound that filled me with
A desire that opened every door
With even less you wanted more
Than I could savour
Or curry favour
You had your faith but wanted proof
I thought you distant and aloof
You smelled of roses in the dawn
Your promises wilted by pouring scorn
over my misunderstandings
And underhandings
I may have been here once before
It looks familiar but I'm not really sure
I watched you dancing in the dark
With your head held high you made your mark
Across my field of vision
I was burned by your derision
There were times you'd let me know
You pointed out which way to go
At times I didn't have a clue
In your piety you moved me too
Each breath we took together
I thought would last forever
If there is a God I hope he's sane
In this world of madness we're all to blame
I won't be the one to draw first blood
Or we'll all be drowning in the flood
For the cries we hear deep in the night
Are the one's furtherest from the light...

I like this
I think the flow is well and the rhyme is good.
I thank you for entering it here for us all to view.
