thought of happiness crowded by sad
all emotions poring to the suffice without control
sudden bursts of light and dark
normal life not an option
existing on the edge
life teetering in the balance
clinging tight to what i love
running from my fear
no control
sanity but a question of a trigger unknown
emotions a bomb waiting to explode
cutting without knowledge of why
wishing i would just die
asking questions of strangers
why
a paper says they have an answer
doctors who don't know
friends who don't care
a pill i am told to take
but drugs i hate
so i will forever be without one thing
my balance if yin and yang
forever lost in the knowledge of no control

I think you captured a lot of the things bipolar people
have to deal with on a daily basis, very well.
I think you need better friends and better doctors
Good luck in the contest!

I always make the reference to yin and yang and no one understands me.
I hate the ignorance and questions. "You mean you are always crazy? Never in the middle? God, that must be tough. What do you mean you spent all your paycheck on (insert useless item here). Why are you so sad today when you were jumping off the walls yesterday?"
No one understands.
I have another poem caled "Black Matter, White Matter". It's about hasty manic actions followed by the remorse.
Best of luck in the contest.
