I run from you because
there's forgiveness in your eyes.
It's nearly knocked me cold,
and I feel the pain begin to rise.
The rage inside me comes to life,
and it feels as if my heart might explode,
and as though my blood will boil,
and I think to myself, you cannot know-
the pain I've caused;
the tears I've brought,
the hearts I've murdered;
the darkness I've wrought...
and who are you to forgive me,
or ask me to forget?
Who are you to quiet the souls,
I haven't laid to rest yet?-
and who are you to offer up a smile,
or understanding, resting in your eyes?
And who are you to not believe,
yet gladly accept, my lies?
There's no forgiveness for the damned;
no love for the cruel.
There's no rest for the wicked,
so there's nothing you can do.
There's no hope for the wretched;
no truth for all my lies...
and so, I abandoned you becaue,
there was forgiveness in your eyes.

Brilliant...nostalgic
Hmmm, quite strange though. You remind me of me heh. We have somewhat the same writing style..or we used to. ha, i've...grown to find it easier to free verse most of everything lately...like for the past year lol. ha.
wonderful dear, refreshing...i thought i might have been the only person who understood how to write.
