Katie was just five years old
she hides a secret
that she's never told
She fights a war of bruises and pain
she wonders if she'll go insane
She needs to be a child
she needs to be set free
She wants to be happy
but will she ever be?
she's scared to cry
she's scared to tell
the secrets of her personal hell.
When he strikes his hand across her face
and puts her mommy in her place
by throwing her down the stairs
will you be their saving grace
by telling what you know?
You decide, how you want this story to go
Author notes
This poem was inspired by the child abuse epidemic. I think we all need to take a stand against it.

This is so very true. We need to say enough is enough. Protect these little angels from the evils of this world.
