A piece of popcorn
Escaped from the pan
And flew across the kitchen
Like Superman
It ping-ponged back and forth
Between the oven and the freezer
Then it shot up to the ceiling
Like a daredevil trapeezer
I tried and tried to catch it
But it never missed a trick
So finally I gave up
And ate a licorice stick

Haha, cute! I like the way you completely over exagurate the abilities of popcorn! I also enjoyed reading the end where you said:
"I tried and tried to catch it
But it never missed a trick

And ate a licorice stick"
Very nice rhyming, and it flowed with beautiful light hearted humour, dripping from every finely crafted sentence!

Aww, this is really cute. What creativity you have written. This is not what I had expected it to be. I can visualize a person chasing around after this "flighty" piece of popcorn apparently escaping be consumed. Pretty good job on this. Such a kernel of wisdom, musta been the butter made it slippery, licorice is so much more chewy and it doesn't jump around when your trying to eat it, unless it's a licorice rope and you're jumping with it...lol..cute poem~~~Artis
