Hit, to Height

misfortune falls
like bricks on head
and there seems to be no end

hold on...

patience binds
like clay, these bricks,
and shape to dreams is lent.

carry on...

hopes turn to reality
like clouds to rain;
the thirst of desire's quenched.

----------------------------

even at the base
of the darkest abyss,
my little dream -
lighter than light -
knows only to shine

from the bottom of it all,
there's just one way,
and that, my friend,
is to rise...

    Great

This is really good, I like how it is written and how... the flow changes when you get to the end to say that the only way is up. I think this is a poem that everyone should be able to relate to, also it did what the contest asked, and inspired me Thanks for entering this and good luck.

    And in the Light....

.... there is no bottom... or top... only space to shine ever brightly...

    Shine on bright light!

    encouraging

Everyone has bad times mixed in with the good ones. "Hold on" is perfect advice; when the path is dark, keep walking on the path! You have used great metaphoric imagery, and I agree! Best wishes always.
