tee shirts with names, events and creative themes
old company logos, taverns and nostalgic places
Harley Davidson, Sturgis runs and benefit races
I Seldom wear collared shirts, slacks or fancy suits
always old vintage t-shirts, jeans and motorcycle boots
know them well, how they fit, which are ripped or torn
my favorites are usually the ones weathered and worn.
You can buy new shirts and you'll still be in style,
unlike the new buying trend, now in stores for awhile
sales of jeans, with the old worn faded looks, are high
it's the 'feel' of time weathered jeans you can't buy.
Mine were in fashion before it was a popular trend
Most of my jeans and I have had time to be friends
worn out bulging places, faded blue and vintage loose
some through thirty years of my hard personal abuse.
To allegiance we are sworn
old, frazzled, tattered and torn
weathered souls, two of a kind
Now, that's a hard fit to find.

A tribute to blue jeans..Loved mine too! Even my Dad wore them in his 80's...a certain brand when I would go shopping.Love your humour. Can just picture you through the whole write..Those jeans can stand up to anything.I attest to what you say....And how you've shared in your own way, makes this extra special...Out at the farm, trucking, in the fields..Hate to part with my dear blue jeans......Terrific write!

Well if this wasn't a fitting poem for the prompt
I think you nailed this one dead on Hun. You have brought your jeans and vintage T's to life in this write. How many of us have those, I know I have my favorites that I will probably wear until they are hanging off of me in shreds
I have a couple of my husband's old heavy denim shirts that he wore pretty often but I guess not often enough because they were all in good condition, that is until I moved out here to Cali
Now the cuffs are hanging by threads, half of the collars have extensive wear in them and well, let's just say they are very comfortable
You nailed the prompt, the rhythm and rhyme were superb, what more can be said?
Thanks for entering and good luck Hun. Be well and be blessed

Oh give me my old Levi jeans any day but then the heart of any country girl would say that... you made me think about the circumstances of me losing my favourite pair and having to leave them on a fence post... ahem... lets not go there... good one hun

There is nothing more comforting than slipping into an old pair of jeans and feeling them wrap themselves around you. Your words held such nostalgia and yes, love, for your favourites as they wrapped themselves around me. Best wishes to you in the contest.
