Chair

Missing image

stop sitting on my face!
am sick of your old butt
am tired

of your habit of scratching my arms

stop rubbing your back on my back

trying to satisfy your damn itch

do you know?

you've spoiled the beautiful carvings

on my polished feet

dragging me all the way

on this uneven surface!

stop treating me as a human

for wood's sake -

I'm a Chair afterall !!

Author notes

This is a personna poem, I've been inspired by a fellow poet on AP to write such poems and I just thought I'ld try my hand at one. Just tell me how it has worked out. This poem is written on behalf of a chair.

God Bless

Wow. very nice. Looking through the eyes of an object...that doesn't have any! How brilliant of you! I love this! Very original!

My experience at poetry is in its 'baby shoes', but I think you have something here. It's not easy to 'humanise' or to create life in 'things', but you have succeeded in your attempt. Your line: 'stop treating me as a human' is well presented, and provides the gist of the poem. Keep practicing, you have talent on this level. Frans
