I sent you a candy cane
With a note too
Giving a hint
Of how much I love you
But I gave you nothing
That you could hold
nothing 3-D or flat
nothing you can twist, bend, or fold
I gave you something
I shouldn't have given away
others would quote
but i did anyway
I gave you my freedom
I gave you my smile
I gave you my thoughts
a secretive file
I gave you my happiness
I gave you my strength
I gave you my drive
I gave you my passion
I gave you my life
Some already questioned
How could you give what you may never receive?
My truthful response is
"I gave back what he gave me"
Author notes
Regifting something is usualy bad but in this case i gave him everything he gave me so if I lose, yet he gains I will still smile, and be happy though I gave them away to you my love

WOW - this is wonderful. I love how you made this twist at the end of the poem. What a great tribute to your love and devotion. Thank you for a wonderful entry.
