Dear God

Missing image
Dear God, I want to apologize to you
I’m sorry for what our country is trying to do
They want to remove you from our life
Leaving us drowning with heartache and strife
This world use to believe in you
When I was small, it was the thing to do
They’ve taken prayer out of our schools
The Ten Commandments no longer a rule
I hear they want your name off all our money
I wish I knew why they’re acting so funny
As if all this isn’t enough to explore
They want Christmas removed from our stores
But you can bet they want the business to stay
They’ll just start calling it “Happy Holidays”
I don’t need to tell you how this makes me feel
But how to stop it, where do I appeal
Please don’t let them do this to you
If only I knew just what to do
This isn’t right; they’ll all go to hell
If in their heart you cease to dwell
I pray to you on bended knee
Please open their eyes and make them see
We cannot live without you as our guide
In my life your ways will forever abide
I’ll raise my voice the whole day through
Standing up for you I plan to do
Thank you God for hearing my plea
In Jesus’ name I pray to thee
Amen

Very well written and to the point. Happy Holidays didn't lay in the Manger that first Christmas night. Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas. I'm with you.

This is the first poem I've seen that has expressed my feelings about what's going on in this country regarding Jesus. I love the fact that you wrote about it and chose to make it public. Thank you for entering the contest. Wish you well in the contest.

Wonderful prayer and I am with you all the way

It has to be stopped but in order to stop it someone will have to do as the one who caused all of this .Did you know he took it to the supreme court on our dime oh yes and still going strong . The world has gone mad and those who believe and loves God are in shock that they would pass such a thing without asking the people who built this country . To keep it we shall have to all put it back and stand tall and proud as our soldiers do for us .

    STUNNING

Never a truer word spoken, or written. When God is absent from a nation, or a person's life, then you can be sure that Satan steps in and evil things follow. And then we call on God asking, where were YOU when that terrible event happened?

But God, because we have pushed him to one side, has stepped aside and let us get on with it. Why is it good enough to cry for God's help in our time of need, yet we don't want Him in our schools, colleges, Government buildings, shops??? No wonder God steps aside.

Well done Caty, I am with you all the way.

    Love and respect to you
    Your Brother
    Wayne

A message needed to be made

You know me Cathy sometimes I can be darn right cantankerous but That's between me and God. We're in a whole mess of what the dog left behind and it seems they're hoping we'll all step in it. Maybe there's nothing we can do, but above all else God wants and EXCEPTS us to keep the faith. So let all who agree keep the faith.
Happy birthday Jesus and merry Christmas to all.

    Simply Supurb!

    this was...amazing...
so well written and nicely done!
this reminds me of a prayer I wrote and how similar it is! you're right, God is no longer welcomed in the hearts of society now days. I try to start a religious conversation at my school, but that place is just filled with fools.
    God has blessed you well!
    Keep up the good work.
I pray God continues to bless u and I pray God's Will be done in the public offices, the schools, and the upcoming elections.
A great message for all to read!
    5 of 5 stars!

I agree with Cara, this is was wonderful. I actually got onto someone for entering a "Happy Holidays" entry. They tried to explain the reason they didn't say Merry Christmas but I wouldn't have it. It's THAT understanding of such a ridiculous move that make saying Merry Christmas against the rules , you know? And it's just so stupid. UGH! Wonderful write darling!
