I see her feather
Floating like a ship at sea
Sinking through the wind
Falling down to me
And I let it reach the ground
And the villagers pray
They spread vomit over their mouths
Oh unholy day!
And I push through the bushes
They cut me with their thorns
And I finally find a clearing
Where my thoughts can be known
My mother is on a branch
Our eyes meet like lovers
And her voice cracks with a familiar call
"My sweet boy, am I your mother?"
And I take the gun
But she isn't scared
"Death isn't something to fear..."
"It's just a chance to be reborn a new..."
"So if you take me, I will only haunt you"
And I cry, the jungle eats me alive
I want to go home, I see my mother fly
Up and that owl isn't far from here either
Two great birds soaring through canopies of plastic green leaves
And I push her feather down my throat
And I swear I know
The day I die
Oh, girl just take me home
