A black hole.
A swirling vortex of supergravity and nothingness
From which not even light can escape.
How they resemble the darkness of eyes.
How they resemble a pupil, lost in a vast iris of beauty.
Light travels forever in, never to escape.
It widens in pure darkness
When it no longer can steal the shimmering breath of galaxies.
When it can't rip the wings from angels.
When it no longer ingests purity.
How it shrinks when it's overloaded
When all around is splendor.
When it has finally filled itself to the brim.
It finally closes.
Is it the eye of God?
Of some other deity, lost in space?
If you look into one...
Do you see a soul?
Will you see a forgotten glimmer of humanity?
When I look into the sky, and see pinpoints of light,
Will I find myself reflected
Distorted into a thing of beauty?
If you fall into the eyes of heaven, do you awake in Paradise?
Scientists and Philosophers ask,
"What lies within a black hole?"
I merely reply
With words that taste so familiar,
Yet aren't mine,
"Look into your lover's eyes. Look into your children's."
"What do you see, hidden in the dark vortexes of their thoughts?"
And they dismiss it
On "lack of evidence."
That simply means they are afraid of the answer.
To look into your lover's eye is to be captured once more by the heart.
To look into your children's... Is to see your world.
