Warm water on a sunny day
The coastal breeze comes my way
Beaches are full of energetic teens
Swimming, playing, and making a scene
Near the water, sandcastles are made
The tide arrives and they slowly fade
A group of boys are playing frisbee
As a cautious mother watches the sea
A family is having a lovely cookout
In the calm water, their dog kicks about
A young woman who reads upon her chair
Soon falls asleep without a care
Summer is like a wonderful dream
That goes by all too fast, it seems
One day you're happy, lively, and bright
The next day is frigid, with snow in sight

Love the tone/feel of this and the rhyme is very well done.

This made me miss summer. I live about five minutes from the beach so during the summer, I'm there almost everyday. You had a lot of great imagery in this, nicely written.

Thanks so much. I live close to the beach too and I miss the summer. I'm glad you liked it!
