If a friend of yours had died for you,
you'd cry for years on end,
Jesus has died for everyone,
a message he chose to send.
If a friend of yours had died, you'd care,
and you'd never let them go,
Jesus went through so much more,
for a message, you need to know.
He was beaten, whipped, and mocked,
but in truth, he didn't care,
He only wanted us to see,
the truth that lies out there.
If we could only feel his pain, we'd regret,
the things we put him through,
but we're still forgiven, we have the chance,
to accept him and see light anew.
God cared enough for us to send,
his one and only son,
and once Jesus died, he knew,
he knew, the pain had just begun.
We'll never stop the evil,
the sin and doubt and pain,
and if it ever stops he know,
well simply start again.
In life we know, we cant be "good",
we can only try to be,
But when we die, we can see perfection,
what God knows, we'll never be.
