The phantom hunter of Florida,
sometimes heard but so seldom seen.
Dont be deceived by this trait.
This is not skillful stealth.
Felis Concolor
is vanishing
from this earth.
Help them.
Please.

Felis Concolor is the scientific name for a mountain lion or cougar. This poem is specifically about the endangered Florida Panther. This beautiful creature is very close to extinction and it saddens me that the majority of recent sightings by average citizens have been the discoveries of Florida Panthers killed by vehicles while trying to cross highways.

I am still getting used to this site and it's many features. You have a very good point and I will be adding to the notes on a number of my poems. The site I am transferring from does not have this option. In general, I tend to use titles that are a bit mysterious, and should explain them. Thanks again.
