A picture of you and your father
whom you loved so much,
still hangs on the wall -
a grandfather we children never knew,
but his daughter God chose for us to love.
You were humble, caring and always there;
ready for all who needed you.
Never demanding to receive,
always grateful for the smallest thing.
But, your greatest wish was always
to have your family around.
You cared for our Dad until you no longer could,
and braved the lonely path to say farewell
not knowing that he would follow
thirteen days later to meet again with you.
You found peace, strength and comfort,
while preparing yourself
to meet your Heavenly Father -
never once did you ask why,
but accepted His Will.
We children had a special blessing
some hours before you left -
each were able to meet with you,
and to hug you one more time.
You looked so beautiful in pink, and
so serene and at peace.
When you asked me: ‘Who is standing there with you?’
I then knew that He had allowed your father
to be there to help ease your passage into heavenly life.
As a leaf you fell from the Tree of Life
to be gathered with His perfect love.
We’ll miss you, but will always have joy
in knowing that you, our mother, have found
ever-lasting Peace, Happiness, and Love.

Thank you for entering my contest.
How inspiring! Its nice to have some positive takes on death
And I like how you took comfort and understanding in your religion...not letting it fault, but grow, in time of saddness.
"As a leaf you fell from the Tree of Life", was my favortie line...it really caught my attention. -
Wow...
This is a very beautiful poem. My favorite line though was "As a leaf you fell from the Tree of Life
to be gathered with His perfect love." This is a very good line, it speaks right from the heart and has so much beauty that in turn is hard to grasp. Thank you for taking an interest in my writing and I will continue to do so in yours.
Sincerely,
Jocilynn

Thanks
This was a good poem about a loss that I feel sorry for however to me it was more of a story. Keep writing. -
How can I use logic ...
to translate spiritual sight? You have touched upon the realm of the divine with this poem: interrelatedness within the fountain of Life.
May you and your beloved ones be embraced by this link of Holy Healing, my beloved friend Frans. May you realize once again that our Life is not here, but in the Home He is preparing for us in sharing the Soul of All.
Thank you for seeing the Unseen.
Love to you
Myra
