My heart is the beating drum
The thing that keeps me alive
It helps me determine feelings of life
It's my flawless lie detector
One that makes me see
That when I think one thing, I feel another
It's the music box song that plays
When I lay down to fall asleep
Bringing me endless dreams
My heart is the box I'll hold forever
That I'll keep protected from all
Never to let just anyone see
My heart is the token I give to you
My heart is alive and breathing
My heart is what makes me love you

"It's my flawless lie detector"
that's a really cool metaphor..I would have liked to have seen this expanded more alone in the poem..not with the music box, or the beating drum..they are even really related..also..starting your lines with 'my heart' there at the end was a little repetitive..sometimes, it works...in this case I feel it didn't really...thanks for entering my contest..
