I never looked down
and i never thought twice
Could just be the reason
I never saw you on the inside
I walked above and fought like beast
I never heard the songs wrote for me
You don't have a voice
you didn't get the choice
so struggle, as you gasp for air
you wasted it all for evanescent prayers
Where was I when the blood was drawn
steel birds flew east like a bad song
where was I when you died that night
I'll never forget what I set right
The bloodshed down below I never quite recognised
the man deep inside, who was I to be here tonight
when you were dying for the better half of our fight
I never wrote a sonnet of any worth
but I screamed my words from Heaven to Earth
you were unlucky, you didn't get a voice
no one ever thought to give you the choice
so struggle, and fight, as you gasp for air
you wasted all your days in evanescent prayers.

ok rereading it you could probably make that into a song, I've never seen a deeper poem.

wow. I cant think what else to say. It had me slightly confused but I like poems that do that. IT makes me less focused on the obvious details and more focused on the poem its self, few poems have had this effect on me.
