Sitting on the table
waiting to be delivered,
two hand crafted stuffed toys,
made each year for shelter's children,
always bringing such hugs and smiles
from sweet, but abused hearts.
Always be told they come from Santa,
no child ever aware
they were the product of feeble hands
belonging to blind grandmother
while resting in her bed,
whose love for others took
dim eyes could not mar..
Presents shared by adults
that once themselves received
one of her treasures,
finding out later their source,
granny's heart reborn in them
the truest of her gifts.

awwww this is gorgeous... i remember a year i couldnt afford presents for my kids and heard a knock on the door... two guys were standing there asking for my kids by name... naturally i freaked. they were like... no we're from the salvation army and have a box of goodies for your children. i cried then and there. ill never forget one was a knitted teddy tho i gave to my youngest and she still adores him today. i only wish i could thank whoever put the time and effort into making him to bring a smile to a beautiful little girls face,
hugs,
