In a quiet bedroom lurks the wondrous form
Of impenetrable, furry love.
Both penguin and cow, sitting forlorn,
In need of the gentlest shove.
They know it's forbidden and difficult too,
For them to express their joy.
We could understand, but we're blind to the truth,
...And anyway, aren't they just toys?
But a child with hope in her eyes, and love
Could bring them so close and warm,
Could squeeze them until their insides were hot,
And their feelings could blossom; transformed.
For animals stuffed with cotton and fluff
Life is inanimate stares,
And just like us humans; resistant to touch,
Sometimes they need warm hands to care.
To tickle us, cuddle us; warm us right through,
To answer our quietest prayers,
And in that one moment when eyes come to life,
We know that our love is to share.

wow
This is by far one of the most flowing poems I have read. Such a beautiful way of comparing teddys with human contact. I reckon you should publish it.
