Fallen Angels
Seven short years
Seemed like twenty.
Welcome to the decline.
America is a fallen angel
Superpower fell from grace
As liberty dies slowly.
We cannot be a self-proclaimed
World police. Not one that tortures
There is no excuse for waterboarding.
Liberal is now a curse word,
We are anti-patriots because
We don’t want children to die.
We don’t want the companies to rule
We don’t want the church to rule.
But, at this point, what’s the difference?
I am expendable youth
To be euthanized for Halliburton’s
Good fortune…500.
These wires tap no terrorists
So, thank god for FISA;
Zero accountability.
We’d rather destroy love
Than create it
If it means gays can marry
Freedom and peace are committing suicide
Love and compassion fly out the door
Replaced by vengeance and jingoism
And do you remember the surplus?
The Statue Of Liberty crumbled.
The role model has died.
I want to, I need to
Get out. Get out.
I want to, I need to
Weep, weep, weep
For a country so far gone.
It makes me want to
Commit suicide
For political reasons
To make a statement
In the form of
A fractured skull and a bullet.
Author notes
Bush is an asshole.

By the way ...
judyjudyjudy is correct. Suicide is not a good option for anyone but cowards, and I'd bet you're not a coward. -
I understand your outrage but I hope you don't mean it when you say you want "To make a statement/In the form of/ A fractured skull and a bullet." A living protest is surely more effective.

Yes ...
Bush is despicable, but I don't like the word "c*nt", as it denigrates women, so would you kindly fix that in your comment?
As far as the poem, everything you say is true, and sadly, that cadre of misanthropic madmen can still do a lot of damage in the next year. One can hope that there's a nice choice hotspot in hell waiting for them, but they are living proof that the Bible is right. "The wicked flourish like the weeds of the field".

A very powerful and passionate denunciation against the moral decline of a once great nation--and I couldn't agree more!
