Love In The Cold
A bleak afternoon skies heavy and grey
the air filled with love on this cold winters day,
meet by the bridge, he’s waiting for me
I run to his arms, he hugs me with glee.
Snow maybe be falling, we haven’t a care
lost in our private world, no-one else there,
together in winter, our moment arrives
love in a snowstorm, the best of our lives.
A stroll by the river, his arm round my waist
contented together, no rushing, or haste,
snow piled up high on the branches of trees
the park to ourselves we can do as we please.
He opens his coat, so I snuggle inside
next to his body the best place to hide
we kiss amid snowflakes, brushing our faces
they melt into dewdrops, leaving wet traces.
The evening is falling, the park gate soon closes
our toes maybe frozen, so cold are our noses
for just these few hours, each other to hold
it feels just like summer, our love in the cold.
