Revenge

Can you hear the cries of pain
soaring through the atmosphere,
a swirling wind of hatred
filling up the air.

Chaos in all directions
heed my warning and beware,
death and destruction
what we create we must fear.

Soldiers walk in blindness
for a war of truth unseen,
disguised in compassion
draped in lies its obscene.

There is no truth to injustice
there is no reward for hate,
the price we pay for arrogance
is the price that we create.

    In the garden of life
    Now we have battlefields
    Seeds of hatred we spread
Where Love & compassion are the weeds
    We trample with our feet
    For our minds so twisted
By leaders, as we are moulded
    Only to believe
This is the way of life we should live

Very inspiring & thought provoking poem you've penned my dear. Different words though simple yet deliver powerful message. Great write hun & thanks for making us think of what we sow, so shall we reap... if we won't wake up and look into the mirror, it'll be far too late or it is already???

    Take care Minoo.

Great, I loved the view that we or in this case America creates its own problems in war.
Just one thing, in some areas the rhyme sounded abit sing-song, but it didnt take away much from the poem.

    Good Luck,
    Rob

  • so true.
i love the way you have used different words than just the ordinary ones we use in general poetry, the words mean so much i love this.

  • So true this write

WE have so ignored what we do everyday to the point it is now returning ten fold. Oh the little things the showing of hate greed and lust over the years now are being shown through families not knowing what the meaning of marriage is they are like renting motel rooms only they are only for a short while and to me this is like legal rape to marry and not know the true meaning of love . For to promise to God forever with another is not a game. In my life it isa for life

This is a powerful write with a very important message. You have done a nice job relating to the prompt. I am especially moved by the third stanza, but the whole poem is amazing. Nice! Blessings, Patty

  • Hello (Wont say your name as you are in a contest). As ever you have a strong moral stance on this. This has some really good lines, mixing images with lessons that must be heeded; as well as what is the unseen undercurrent for wars. I wish you the best of luck in this contest. My regards.
