it was a saturday, late at night after work when i pulled over on the shoulder. we danced, panicking as if it was an island and we were all abiding to ourselves, alone. we lit our flares, waving our hands everywhere and laughed as cars passed and never stopped for us. summer was hot back then, humid with a tint of sweat. it was sunday when the sun would rise again, but you knew that and i knew it; we were meeting our reflections on the roof when you peered into the hood as i meandered. you asked if it was a make- shift closet (and i responded) but you never heard as you were so endeared. so we slept in backs of seats, and we met the jesus hanging in my mirror; we did it all in then some, and it shows by the mess within our hair, (it did.) it really did, we really did it. then the gulls began to steer the wheel, and i felt responsibility wain as we became the blood of juvenile, the blood of old. we stained each other's heart beats, and i rubbed against your soul. i even felt a child that's had too many falls, but he didn't mind and he didn't care. i was there; the lover, not the friend. the lover. not the friend.

well i have notitced in your new prose writings you seem to fire thru them like you want to get out of it as quick as the moment happened, for the writer it is intense, for the reader, it lacks development.
