My ears are not attuned to saving grace
No, like most,
I hear
how poorly I have done
how ill
we have fulfilled
what duty
we were specifically
sent to do
My eyes are not focused on miracles
since I am bent over
examining
mistakes I’ve made
picking at remnants
like slipped loop crochet
trying to solve
the immediate re-knotting
to at least save it
My heart, though,
now, that is a different thing
like writhe of world
wishes for some deliverance
Come down Angels, God, Guardians
Guides, Grace,
open us up to higher things
quivering in my, in our, souls.
