The Sun rises and sets
The moon hovers in the night sky,
and no one seems to ask why!
Well I'll tell you,
for I'm the Goddess of Light
I'm the reason that the night sky is do dim
and the sun is so bright.
My mother Artemis,
The Lady of Wild Things,
First entrusted this to me at a young age.
I've always strived,
strived for perfection
that is.
Everyone could tell
when I was having a good day
when they saw a clear sky.
When the weather gets colder,
I don't want to work so hard,
thus short days and long nights.
However when it's warm
I want to be out all day long.
So I bless all with long days.
Upon hearing my dad was a demon,
I was heart broken...
and changed all about me.
My name is now DemiGoddess of Darkness,
for I dwell more on the sorrow
then the happy times now.

I love how you've made yourself a backstory, and the whole duality thing is great too (many of the cult members have dual titles). This is just the kind of thing I was looking for in the contest - name, function and history are all included, and linguistically the poem is good too.
