State of Family

From the heart of a ghetto, to a carpeted condo,
to anywhere you can name,
families are trying to keep the love from dying,
in the high tension world of today.

The numbers are scary for folks who marry,
Five outta ten fall apart,
and our kids hang on while we fight
or we run, for a place to make a new start.

The strains of the nation will bring desperation,
to many families abode,
and children will bear the pain of their parents,
when anger and tension explode.

And how can a country be strong,
with weakening family bonds,
in the world of priorities
time after tine, will families wait
at the end of the line,
there are so many falling behind
in the race to survive.

Our children grow up take on a job
of gaining a handle on life
with day of defiance,desperation and highs
and unraveling family ties.

Society changes, and time rearranges
our image of husband and wife,
traditions are breaking and hearts are aching
to keep emotions alive.

But to those who thrive in family
I offer my praise and my prayers ,life
like a safe embrace for the human race you offer a reason to care

And every society lives on the vision our families give to see the beauty in children's dreams to celebrate people who
save their needs to summon the heart to believe in the power of love.
