Christian lost forest green
probably in between the seats of the Explorer
when I showed him the magic of yellow and blue
he lit up like the Christmas tree he was trying to draw on a homemade card
“What else do you know, Daddy?”
“Only one thing of significance, Son -
that I love you more than all the colors in the Universe.”
he threw his arms around my neck
knocking the bifocals off my face
“Oh, I already know that, Dad. You have rainbows in your eyes."

Thank you kindly, Lady Mak. I am a bit of a softy when it comes to my son. The sweetest memories are made of spontaneous flashes in an ordinary day.

I adore the simple moments with children caught in poetry. I'd have to say it is my favorite in the "verse world".

This is adorable!!!!
It's so real, just like a little glimpse into the life of a great father.
Complete with imagery to boot- it unfolds before your eyes.
Great write!
