Stereotype

Oh! What a tangled web we weave
deaf men hear and blind men see
but no miracle is there, no faith
left in the shadows of dying grace

Oh! What a tangled web we weave
when the iron curtain is felt with pain
destructive souls in a world so vague
the flesh has been mercilessly slain

Oh! What a tangled web we weave
when children don't play sinlessly
what we expect for innocence, is just a lie
hiding in the mask of a stereotype

Author notes

This was a poem done with other people from my poetry enrichment course at the college. We were given a line from a famous poem, and then we each had to add one line to it and pass it to the next person.

Really nice. And the unity of it is amazing considering that it had multiple author. Really great!
