A Cityscape At Christmas

I walked across the city today,
the mass of limbs I had to fight
for the right to gain entrance to
the holy grail of the 80 foot tree
was. worth. it. I. think.

The smell of roasted chestnuts
blended with smells of ice,
melting,

from the storm the other day
that blistered in and out.
A quick hello from the North
or the South?

Who cares?

All I know is that it brought snow.

Snow like cocaine ...

Energy and bravado course through me
till the cold hits my face.

Cocaine does not smell like this though,
does it?

Author notes

Well, some thoughts of Christmas in the city. I want to play with abstract now, so here we go.

Please tell me what you think

Snow/ cocaine. Well, I suppose the color of it is alike, but that's about it. Powerful imagery in this piece. I liked the relating snow to cocaine, though. Seemed very original for a poem. Keep writing.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Snow / cocaine????? As I've told you before, I know NOTHING about abstract, so I shall continue reading your words and commenting on how it makes me feel ~shrug~
I thought this was fun and yet had an underlying feeling of fear ... I did enjoy it tremendously though - well done
