He waits in silence.
His soul engulfed in crimson tears.
As he bows his head in prayer,
his heart aches for the angel
lying before him.
Her heart scarred by
a lifetime of abuse,
her mind tormented by doubts,
forcing her soul into exile
as an internal battle consumes her.
She thinks herself flawed,
undeserving of his love,
but in his eyes she is perfect.
even though the demons veil her sight
and she can not see it in herself.
He cries out to God to give her the strength
to fight and for the peace she needs.
and as she is bathed in the light of Gods love,
he whispers a prayer of thanks.
Knowing his place is by her side,
he will be forever vigilant,his heart eternally true,
he will be there with unconditional love,
to welcome her home
when the battle has been won.
