My love and I felt there was something missing
we decided it was the pitter patter of little feet
so we practiced and practiced
until at last success
the signs were there
the bulging belly
the nausea and the tiredness
the highs, the lows
the tears, the laughter
Baby number one is on it's way
and with each passing day
the sickness mounts, the swelling increases
then the kicking from within
a tiny heartbeat, wait what's this I hear
not one, not two, but three
An instant family we have made
triplets are soon to appear
Our prayers answered in triplicate
Weeks and months go by
preparations aplenty
clothes and cots
nappies and teats
shopping here, shopping there
advice from Gran and Aunty Mary
Books to read, names to pick
A healthy diet and exercise are a must
Then finally they decide it's time
Amid the pain of the contractions
a sense of excitement fills the ward
as now it is discovered these triplets are now quads
it seems one was hidden by his brother
so one by one they are delivered
Sara, Ben, Susie and Bobby
Each is checked, weighed, washed, wrapped and tagged
and placed upon their mother's chest
Ooohs and aaahs punctuated only by their hungry cries
A cry goes out 'Congratulations, you now have Quads'
Hey where is Dad,
it seems he's fainted
Their little family of two
has grown to six
Once empty arms are now forgotten

This was very good. Had you not written I would've never known it wasn't true. That happens often, more so with fertility drugs. I can't imagine having that many at once! Great work!
