Weeping angel, hanging low,
The dirge is swelling deep.
She's seen too much,
Known too much of the beast,
And has fallen fast asleep.
The sleep where angels sighs do purge,
And their tears sing of absolution.
Sleep, blessed angel, sleep,
Dream of an ascendant world,
A kinder, more benevolent planet.
Where angelic joy encompasses all,
And the sweetness of your countenance,
Lights the world anew.
Sleep till the ways of man have been shed,
Like the out-grown skin of a snake.
We will then be transcendent,
As we stand upon the shoulders of our forefathers,
And are cradled by the sleep of angels.

SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
Our angels take our pain and make it their own with the hope one day all will change for the better.

I thought it was a wonderful poem. It was a little hard to follow though. I had to reread it just so I knew what I was reading. Other then that, it was a thing of beauty. It gives something to think about. Well done and good job. Good Luck in the contest as well.

Wow, brilliant imagery. Captivating work that you have produced here. It matched the picture perfectly yet it told a story at the same time, it wasn't just a mixture of strange untied words. I fell deep into your poetic work. "She's seen too much,
Known too much of the beast" and "Sleep till the ways of man have been shed", these are the simpler lines of the piece but spoke out alot too in the story telling. Thanks for your entry.
