I am a surveyor of bygone kings
A purveyor of undreamt dreams
A conveyor of many things
You might not know how to speak
And I have seen this world
From corners you may never turn
I have fought for my survival
I have stolen, that I could eat
I have lied to save the truth
I have lived through lessons
I hope you never have to learn
And I've been told that I may burn
For I am a wolf amongst the flock
In the manner of a Shepherd
I guide
And for my guidance, I take
A wolf, hidden in plain view
I only did what I had to do
Punish me
Author notes
I must note that in my religion challenging the words of the gods is not blasphemy. As my prophet, known only as "Innocent of Conviction" once said, "I have found courage, and a brave man does not fear the wrath of gods"

Your poetry is powerful for there is not one living who can claim to be just and without stain or blemish. I do think we punish ourselves here in the now more than the Master of All Creation will ever punish us. We tend to look at ourselves sometimes as righteous but I know that there are none righteous! You have done well with this work poet. I find nothing blasphemous or offensive here. As a matter of fact, somewhere in my pile here at AP, I have a poem similar to this one. I am a firm believer that one is all and all is one. In that you too are my kin.
Thank your for this well written entry. I wish you the best in the Comp!

If only for the wonderful phrase "A purveyor of undreamt dreams" this would have been worth readong. yet there is so much more to read and consider.
Excellent.
