Pain trickled like acid through her bones,
A liquid fire setting to her insides as she fell.
Her knees met hardwood flooring first,
Then her hands,
And at last the skin of her cheek met cool wood.
She was blinded by shock morphing,
Blaring, aching pain.
It set that acid loose upon her bones,
Ate away at her concept of reality,
At her dignity.
She didn't care that he was still watching her.
She didn't care how wrecked she looked,
As she fell apart from the inside out.
He'd broken her.
Four simple words,
"I don't love you."
Pain burned like acid through her bones,
A liquid fire tore her insides as she broke.
She'd lost love-
Love she'd never had,
But had depended on nonetheless.
