Moving Onto More

We've gotten this far on our own,
each one following their particular road.
Throughout personal struggle and frustration
helping out those within our given relation.

Never finding time to do more than just think,
wanting to react, hoping to fill the missing links.
Reaching for a goal, inconsistent with a plan,
expecting fame and fortune to fall directly in our hands.

Wishes of a life with one less fight
are nothing more than wishes
without a plan in sight

Turn those shooting stars into tomorrow's dreams
watch them fall from the sky  - as nothing is truly what it seems

There isn't one individual living without his very own story
Everyone has personal challenges that were rough -
but who's to say who gets the glory?

Not every struggle can make it to the top,
but persistence to make a change is the difference that we've got.
Having the ability to take life for what it is,
sensing the day will come, when yesterday won't be missed.

Why bother being disappointed about what today is missing,
blaming the struggles in life, wasting precious time reminiscing.

Just keep that thought that effort is the secret
If you want more for your life, either change your ways - or keep it
It's only up to you to make the difference
Fight for the truths in life and know when to use the least resistance

No regrets for sorrows which only made you stronger
"the days we live are short, but the life we live is longer"     

Looking forward and never turning back
Allowing wisdom to lead us smoothly down our path
Never drifting away or going no where fast
Remembering that the good guys always finish last

We could sit here every day and explain our good intentions
Indulging in past experiences never once forgetting to mention
That confusion arises on how God could allow us to struggle
Do we really think we were granted a life completely free of trouble?

Instead of being depressed at how our childhood scarred our hearts
Think of all the souls out there who still try to not be pulled into the dark
Starving children across the world watch their mothers raped and killed
The little boy who was abused by his dad simply for a drink that had been spilled

We had it rough by all means in many singled out ways
Always trying to compare with one another's pain
Maybe if your experience beats his, he'll see your not insane
Or is there a point we want to prove in this silly little game?

No matter how many people feel they can relate
won't pull you out of this current situation that you face
don't expect a pat on the back for a life of buried fates
some worse than others but is it necessary to state?

Keep moving ahead, helping yourself and thinking of others along the way
If you think of yourself and help the world - you'll sing a song of pity  throughout your days

Consider for yourself putting focus on whats real
Letting your conscience help decide just how you feel
Paying no mind to drama sent to divert your energy
Having instincts that faith is the only helpful remedy

The future is a chance at a purified life re born
More attempts to bring us down, don't say you weren't warned
For if you want certain things to be improved
Keep in mind things only change by the choices that we chose

Focused on a memory through the many that I have
finding that within the tears there are for sure so many laughs
Not dwelling over what got me here in this one position
I'll stay alive-as long as I strive, to make the right decisions

So once again fight for today and know tomorrow is a gift
head held high, spirits on full drive- ready and willing to shift
Look ahead and don't forget the past, just don't let those emotions break you
Never knowing where these convenient days will take you

Far away from past uncertainties
A closer look at inner dreams
oblivious to any whom disagree
that this life plays no jokes you see
