I wonder what you're doing now,
How growing up affected you.
I wonder if you've changed since then,
If time has made you different too.
How are you doing Annelen?
I wonder if you're still the same,
As fun, as boyish, and as wild,
Or if these things are nothing more
Than things remembered as a child.
Is Annelen unlike before?
I think of you and think of fun
As well as freedom, nature, smiles;
I see your face like yesterday.
Though since then I've faced many trials
In mem'ries Annelen will stay.
And though I hold you in my heart
I wonder if you even knew
The fondness I felt even then.
I hope you can recall me too
'Cause I remember Annelen!

There are a few friends I remember from my younger childhood, I still sometimes wonder about them. They moved away and it was like they just disappeared. I feel this way about those friends.
