Dead Man In Moncton

double-dressed
dreams winter

I am casting off
any shelter,

like you,

frozen body in Moncton,

held, only,
by dead
blue
arms

Author notes

Ty to R. Doiron for the email that forced this poem

Codiac Regional RCMP are seeking public assistance

Road in Moncton on Dec. 2
The man is described as being of average height, with a slim build, dark brown hair with natural auburn tint, an unkempt beard and appears to be in his 40s. He was wearing an old grey down-filled jacket, two leather jackets, blue jeans, a blue tuque and blue mittens.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Codiac Regional RCMP at 857-2400.

ty Zayra. I guess there has been such a desecration of who he was by the way they describe him and the those of his plight. It is so ludicrous to think that we can help all over the world and such happens right in a small city right in our own back yard.

Your simple words have strengthened the message of the e-mail.

The value of a society can be measured by how it treats its most humbled members.

    Thank you for this.

Youa re so absolutely correct. It has been kept so quiet anywhere but in the small town where real people with real hearts are trying to make sure his death does not get shuffled under all the Christmas shopping.

    Sadly profound and telling, m'Lady.
Makes us look in the mirror...

    "held, only,
    by dead
    blue
    arms"

    You gave him dignity, Scribe.

I like that you keep us current with your poetry, also that you take us back, you remind us where we are, where we came from, and you remind us to be human.

It's a subtle theme throughout the writing of yours that I've read that never gets old. You are wise, I think, and you pay close attention to the people and things around you, it comes across very clearly in your writing.

This poem is a great example of that.

ty for such a nice comment. I do write it as it is in my life. To read my poetry or my book is to read reality.
