Late at night, when all is still,
the staticy snow of TVland hums
as I drift off to sleep.
Unbeknown to me,
the steady drip-drip of mucus
slows as it forms icicles on my lip.
Days ago, I was a happy soul,
basking in the bright pink of health;
today, I am battered by the virus
frolicking through my system,
playing merry havoc with my sanity.
I wonder, of all the delights of the season,
none attract me most right now
as the sugarplum dreams of pure ecstasy
that await me as I raise a toast of eggnog,
laced with the warming liquid
that washes over my tongue
and carries the magical bean of...
Pseudoephe-dreams.

I'm sorry you feel bad but at least you used it for some great creativity. I enjoyed this. Get better soon, Cathy

Thank you for reading, commenting and the well wishes. I think the meds the doctor gave me will help. With any luck it will be a Kleenex-free Christmas.

Thank you. I am sure it is not what the hosts expect, but then, I am in a mood. A drugged one, but a mood nonetheless.
